You do not have to be perfect to be happy with who you are.
There are probably ideas in your head about who you think you should be that don’t line up with who you really are.
(Fuelled by the ideas floating around in our culture about how we’re supposed to be: nice, responsible, the “good girl” . . . basically perfect in every single way.)
This presumption of perfection is killing us.
The expectations are high.
It’s a lot of pressure.
And it’s no wonder we obsess about everything, constantly comparing ourselves to others, hoping we’ll measure up . . .
. . . which usually leaves us angry and frustrated with ourselves and jealous of others.
This constant inner battle can make it seem like we’re the problem, like we need to change/fix ourselves.
But that just isn’t the truth.
